Hi, my name is Nadia.

Welcome to my space. Here I'm allowing myself to whisper and ramble and scream out loud. If you're here to listen, welcome.

All Summer '18

I’ve fallen into a bit of a writing rut. It’s silly really but I overheard someone at work say “well, blogs are just so dead” and I thought to myself “oh, she must be right.” Let me explain. I work with a bunch of super trendy, socially-aware, creative people so I’ve kind of convinced myself to take their opinions as absolute truth. It’s of note that a week later I overheard that same someone mention she needed to update her own blog, so I guess I should’ve known better than to push Picking Crowns to the back burner so quickly.

Writing here was a real morale booster for me this past year. When I felt I had nowhere else to just fully and unabashedly vent I’d turn here before anyone even knew this space existed. And I’m sure only two people really read along – one of which is boyfriend (even my Grandma unsubscribed from my email alerts). And it’s true that sometimes I get a little embarrassed, like people may think I’m trying too hard or think that I’m this super millennial aspiring influencer type – which I’m not, at least no more than the average 21-year-old who would love to get flown out to #RevovleAroundTheWorld and get sent free stuff from La Mer. That’s a literal dream. But no, I’m just Nadia and my life gets a little hectic sometimes and I’m a memory pack rat for real so I find it necessary to jot everything down in these posts – it’s cathartic and necessary, really.

So, when my friend texted me today asking when I’d publish my next post I thought, “oh, maybe blogs aren’t as dead as I thought” - or at least not my blog to this one particular friend, which is more than enough.

With that being said, gear up for new posts all Summer '18.
